Mission: The mission of Lake County International Charter School is to educate students in grades K-8 to be literate, knowledgeable, principled, local, national, and global citizens. Students participate in an enriched and nurturing learning environment that honors the whole child - intellectually, emotionally, creatively, physically, socially and culturally. LCICS students become competent and self-motivated individuals with a commitment to life-long learning that enables them to reach their full potentials.

Vision: LCICS emphasizes academic excellence and artistic expression; respect and appreciation of diversity; personal, social, and environmental responsibility; and an understanding of the interconnectedness of all living things and our global environment. Students of diverse backgrounds and abilities advance academically, artistically, socially and personally through the highly successful and proven teaching methods of the IB, PYP - the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program

Multi-Age Classes: LCICS is organized using the Multi-Age Program (MAP) model with classes spanning 2 to 3 grades, much like St. Helena Unified's excellent Multi-Age Program. Children's individual readiness can be addressed through strength-based and flexible groupings. Students gain real-world experience by working with individuals of various ages and move from being the younger students in the classroom to being the older, more experienced ones. As younger students benefit from the advanced academic and social behaviors modeled by older students, the older students benefit from the reinforcement of their skills and knowledge as they mentor the younger ones. Leadership skills, nurturing behaviors, and a greater sense of community are developed.
